Carl-Johan Boman, "Grace" Vanity, 1947

Very rare freestanding vanity designed by Carl-Johan Boman.

Grace is an object with curved contours, made of mahogany, intended for tidying up or beautifying. It's easy to place at the table, near a mirror or mirrors - it has hinged side mirrors - because there is plenty of legroom under it.

The dressing table belonging to the furniture of the Grace bedroom was seen for the first time in the autumn of 1947 in the "Celebratory exhibition of the art of good use" celebrating the 75-year history of Boman Oy. The exhibition was organized at the Turku Art Museum, from where it moved to Boman's exhibition apartment in Helsinki two weeks later.
